Welcome to RandomPCTips.com

Hello and welcome to RandomPCTips.com.  I have just launched this site and am looking forward to developing the content based on pretty much anything computer related on my mind in a given day.  As I noted in my About Me page, my name is Matt and I currently work as an IT management consultant.  My current title is IT Operations Manager for the consulting firm I work for which means that I:

• Handle customer service items.
• Focus on reactive problems at customer sites.
• Remotely fix computer problems on both workstations (desktop and laptop) and servers.
• Handle and / or route escalated calls from our help desk.
• Manage logistics for a handful of consultants.
• Develop processes and procedures.
• Develop a proactive managed service offering.

I stay pretty busy at work but have been thinking lately that my experience with fixing computer problems may benefit others as well.  A good part of my job includes resarch for various obsecure fixes as well as trying to work around not being able to physically sit at a console for a computer.

Throughout this blog I plan to keep everyone in the loop on what kinds of challenges I have faced lately as well as post solutions for random issues and some tips that I find useful being a remote technical support consultant.
